Maths prizes catching up with their heroes

Commendation for outstanding results in mathematics in Year 3 among MMaths students in 2017–18 was awarded to Alexander Lau. Maths prizes for our first cohort of maths graduates were presented during the graduation ceremonies and will be reported here later, watch this space. Several other prizes announced earlier at Maths Awards Day found their recipients during Welcome Week. See the photos of the catching-up presentations below (in addition to photos from the 29 May 2018 Maths Awards Day).Lau-1

Prof Evgeny Khukhro presents commendation and prize to Alexander Lau for best results among Year 3 MMaths students

Boole Prizes-2018 were awarded to Megan Goforth for the best performance in Year 1, and to Jordan O’Connor for the best performance in Year 2.

Commendations for outstanding results in pure maths were awarded to Mateusz Baran and Angelo Iuliano in Year 1, and to Fred Hine and Edward Mason in Year 2.

Commendations for outstanding results in applied maths were awarded to Daniel Hubbel and Benjamin McCarter in Year 1, and to Benjamin Kendrick and Sophie Marshall-Unitt in Year 2.

Commendation for outstanding results in maths and computer science was  awarded to Julius Schaebitz in Year 1.
